Event Planning/PR/Marketing Internship Dream Come True:
WHAT THE HECK:
Ithaca Brew Fest planners are looking for that one special intern to join our team and learn all the ins & outs of the highs-stakes, high-stress, high-performance world of event planning. Ithaca Brew Fest is a 3K+ attended sell-out event that entertains, amuses, and educates the community about the awesome-ness of Craft Beer.
WHAT DEVOTION:
This is a very aggressive opportunity to learn event-planning right down to the nitty-gritty details you’ll never see in class! Your range of tasks include writing press releases, managing volunteer recruitment, trafficking project work flow, communicating with vendors, wholesalers and sponsors, working with web and print content, and– oh yes, there is a manual labor element too, come the weekend of: help orchestrate set-up and tear-down! There is no job too big or too small for any of us on the team, and we expect you to embrace the same positive attitude through your internship.
WHAT COMMITMENT:
The internship starts mid-July(negotiable) and goes through September 9th. The work commitment will start around 2-5 hours/wk and gradually build up momentum to Labor Day weekend. It is absolutely crucial you can commit to at least 30 hours of work the week of Aug. 29 – Sept. 6 (the bulk of those hours will occur fri, sat, and sun). Yes, this includes working all day on the Friday, Saturday, and even Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
WHAT MAKES YOU WORTHY:
You must be 21 before Brew Fest weekend (preferably before the start of your internship), own or access to transportation before and during brew fest. You must have a access to a computer, laptop is ideal.
WHAT MAKES YOU IDEAL:
Positive, open-minded, willing-to-learn attitude is a real asset to this internship. Excellent organizational skills also valuable. Photoshop, Illustrator, Google Docs, WordPress, and social network knowledge a real plus!
WHAT MAKES IT WORTHWHILE:
There is a small stipend at the end, but don’t get too excited. The experience is priceless. Course Credit – we love the idea, but you’ll have to arrange it with your university.
If you meet the age & time commitment criteria, and you are just so excited by this internship opportunity, please email or mail a cover letter, resume, and refs.
